The programme takes the listener on the route followed by travellers
like Lord Burlington and Robert Adam and presents the
musical complement to the great art collections acquired on The
Grand Tour. Taken from manuscripts and contemporary editions the
Parisian shows, the opera in Italy, the Roman Soirées and
the traditional music of Naples and Venice, all described and
collected by tourists, are represented.
